| To clarify the mineralization potential and genetic mechanism of the crystalline graphite metallogenic belt in Fengwang Township, Tianshui, Gansu Province, a systematic study was conducted on the graphite deposit in the research area by integrating multiple methods, including field geological surveys, TIMA
automated mineral analysis, C-O isotope analysis, and major and trace element analyses. The results show that: The ore -hosting rocks in the study area are mainly banded graphite -bearing marbles of the Qinling Group.Graphite occurs as microflaky aggregates, with major associated minerals including calcite (63. 41% ~95. 06%), dolomite (1. 87% ~ 35.92%), and minor biotite and quartz. The δ13 CV-PDB values of carbon isotopes range from -1.28‰ to 2.88‰, indicating that the carbon source is dominated by sedimentary organic matter, which has been significantly modified by metamorphism. Major and trace element analyses reveal that the ore samples have low SiO2 contents (0.25% ~ 2.78%) and high CaO contents (31.31% ~ 54.78%). The total rare
earth element (REE) contents are relatively low, with a flat distribution pattern, suggesting that the protolith is a carbonate sedimentary formation. Combined with the regional tectonic setting and mineral assemblage characteristics, it is concluded that the deposit belongs to a regional metamorphic-type graphite deposit, and its mineralization process is closely related to the tectono-thermal events of the Qinling Orogenic Belt. The research
results provide a theoretical basis for the exploration of crystalline graphite resources in the Tianshui area and have important practical significance for the development of strategic mineral resources in Gansu Province. |
